A patrol car is a specialized vehicle used by the police to patrol public places, roads, highways or to quickly respond to incidents.
The choice of a car and the equipment of patrol cars depends on their intended purpose. If the car is intended for patrolling the highways, then cars with powerful engines are preferably chosen, and a mechanism for stopping violators is installed in the front of the car. City patrol cars have a number of common features in the configuration:
- red and blue flashing lights;
- sound sirens;
- flashing beacons;
- pasting with identification marks;
- intercoms (radio sets).
The configuration of patrol cars can be changed at the customer’s request; usually, holders for weapons and uniforms, safes, tool boxes, etc. are installed in the configuration of such cars.
